Job Summary:

You will support the Finance department’s management of accounting systems, policies and procedures in compliance with CRS’ established accounting standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), donors’ rules and regulations, and legal requirements to support high-quality programs serving the poor and vulnerable. As part of an experienced finance team, you will help coordinate daily financial activities through preparation and delivery of financial services.

Job Requirements

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

  • Review supporting documentation of financial transactions to ensure all required documents are accurate and complete.
  • Help ensure maintenance of all data required for processing financial transactions for assigned accounts in Insight financial accounting package.
  • Record delegated financial transactions following appropriate authorizations.
  • Review various accounts to detect irregularities.
  • Follow up with Budget managers on pending tasks and Insight approvals.
  • Review internal and external reports prepared by Finance assistants.
  • Maintain an efficient Filing System according to CRS policies and procedures.
  • Maintain bank accounts and coordinate Wire transfers.
  • Participate in closing Month End Records for example, Review bank reconciliations and cash counts.
  • Provide Needed Support During Audits.
  • Prepare delegated financial reports, as needed.
  • Help share information with subrecipients and staff on financial accounting policies and procedural compliance issues.
  • Help evaluate subrecipient financial management processes (SRFMP) in accordance with policy and help strengthen capacity of partner in financial accounting and transactions.
  • Prepare Monitoring Visit Reports of sub-recipients according to SRFMP.
  • Record commitments of sub-recipients to be reflected on insight.
  • Maintain gateway records up to date for sub-recipients.
  • Perform other relevant tasks to the area of responsibility as appointed by the Senior Finance Officer.

Basic Qualifications

  • B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration strongly preferred. Courses in accounting, or a qualification in accounting (CPA/ACCA or equivalent).
  • Minimum of four years accounting experience, preferably with an international or local NGO, or a financial/banking institution.

Required Languages – Fluent Arabic and English reading and writing. Hebrew is a plus.

Travel – willing to travel throughout JWBG.

Valid driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity the relevant public donors’ regulations a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel and experience with Word and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Insight financial accounting package or similar financial reporting software a plus.
