Finances and Administration Coordinator
Job Description
Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is a non-governmental organization founded in 1994 in Poland. PAH runs both local and overseas operations. We have been running the mission in the oPt since 2006 focusing on water - sanitation and education. PAH in oPt is a small team of dedicated people with young spirit. There is lots of work but also lots of fun.
PAH activity is based on two pillars: humanitarian-development aid and education. PAH implements its overseas assistance through its missions in West Bank/Gaza and Southern Sudan where it has implemented mainly water supply and sanitation and food security projects. In 2011, PAH opened a new mission in Somalia where it will focus on implementing water and sanitation projects. PAH secures also access to food for malnourished children in Poland and worldwide.
Location: East Jerusalem, Sheikh Jarrah.
Duration: Three year fixed term contract
Position: Full – time, 40 working hours per week
Starting date: 25th of March 2012
General Responsibilities:
-Is responsible of all accountancy aspects of the mission, budget managements under the supervision of the Head of Mission
-To work along with the Head of Mission to ensure that the PAH finance systems and administrative procedures are followed
-To ensure the general running of the Jerusalem office (all administrative issues) and efficient support to the field staff in Gaza Strip
Key qualifications and Skills:
-Minimum of a Bachelor degree in finance or accounting is required. Master degree is preferable.
-Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
-Experienced in working with non-governmental organizations (partners) with financial planning and monitoring of development and relief project
-Good organizing skills, ability to solve job tasks on their own, coordinate the administrative work, apply for permits, keep track of documentation, ability to find solutions to new issues, independency.
-Excellent command of English
-Excellent computer skills
-Arab speaker preferable
