Financial Manager
Job Description
Responsibilities Include:
-Build and lead a well-functioning team. Plan, organize, assign, review, and evaluate the work of financial staff and provide guidance and mentoring. Conduct performance reviews for financial staff
-Supervise and monitor the performance of all project finances in all aspects of the field
-Financial management, including cash management, monthly financial reporting, and financial record keeping
-Supervise accounting cycle in accordance with GAAP to include preparation and appropriate documentation of journal entries, payment requests, and general ledger reconciliations
-Ensure that incurred costs are allowable, allocable, and reasonable in accordance with funder cost principles, and the organizations policies and procedures
-Review and approve accounting and supporting documents and transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with the organizations policies and procedures and funder regulations
-Review internal control systems to ensure that appropriate mechanisms, procedures, and systems are in place / Review and ensure proper authorization and approval and timely processing of payments/reimbursement requests for employees/suppliers/vendors.
-Review and submission of all tax withholdings (payroll income tax, deduction at source) and corresponding reports to relevant parties
-Review payroll and ensure allocation of payroll costs to appropriate general ledger accounts
-Work closely with internal and external auditors during field programme audits
-Maintain contact with local and international donors/supporters
-Manager human resources such as: time management of staff, holidays, sick leave, over time, etc.
-Make sure appropriate labor and financial laws are applied
-Perform other duties as required or assigned
Education/Qualifications
-B.A. Required in Accounting
-A minimum of five (5) years significant accounting/financial experiences, preferably in a non-profit environment
-Strong Arabic and English language skills
-Strong commitment to high-level performance is essential
