Financial Manager/Part time

AFKAR Production Company, is a Palestinian media company for production and publishing. 

Afkar is establishing a new English radio station “Jerusalem24”, as a part of “East Jerusalem Youth: Agents of Change” action in Palestine, implemented by Afkar in partnership with, DanChurchAid/Norwegian Church Aid, and supported by European Union.

Jerusalem24 aims to give citizens in Jerusalem and marginalized areas a wide range of opportunities to participate in a societal debate about laws and daily regulations based on IHRL and IHL. 

Jerusalem24 is seeking for a Part time Financial Manager to manage all financial aspects related to “Jerusalem24 radio”. 

Objectives of the position: The Financial Manager will support the Project Action Manager in ensuring that accounting processes and systems are running effectively and efficiently.  The Financial Manager is also responsible for ensuring the compliance with external donor financial and administrative requirements.

Duration of employment: until 31st of December 2021 with a possibility to extension

Result Areas/Responsibilities:

Finance and Accounting 

Maintain proper filling for the project accounting entries

Manages the petty cash box for the project

Checks expenses supporting documents eligibility (Invoices, Contracts, Payments, Receipts) according to the donor requirements. 

Managing checks and transfers with follow up on its execution and documentation.

Prepares monthly bank and cash reconciliations. 

Follows up closely on monthly payments and advances

Manages the HR files for the project staff.

Preparing the monthly payroll for the staff.

Prepares Monthly financial reports for the project management.

Prepares financial reports to the donor

Assists in preparations of budget revision

Conducting audit preparation, managing the audit process for the project and implementation of audit recommendations and findings

Complies with deadlines and reporting dates 

Preparing contracts

Job Requirements

Knowledge  

Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in accountancy;

Experience 4 to 5 years’ experience in similar positions 

Procurement experience is an added value

Skills 

Excellent computer skills are required

Fluency in English and Arabic.
