GVC Gruppo di Volontariato Civile is an Italian based international NGO operating in the oPt since 1992, and providing support to the people living in the West Bank and Gaza. GVC works in cooperation with national and local organizations, institutions and authorities to provide immediate responses to the critical needs and to the long term and sustainable solutions in order to improve the community development. GVC interventions have been recently characterised by a particular focus on WASH and Food Security/Agriculture sectors.

GVC - Gaza Office is currently looking for qualified candidate to fill the following positions:

Position Title: Focal Point (4 positions)
Contract: 6 months full time contract
Commencement: As soon as possible
Location: Middle Area Governorates, Gaza Strip
Salary: According to the GVC terms of employment for local staff

Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Project Manager (PM) and in coordination with the Local Coordinator (LC), the Focal Point will be responsible for organizing and implementing the project activities at field level, including the following tasks:
-Assist the Local Coordinator in the identification of the municipality committee members.
-Carry out visits to collect information on identified recipients.
-Maintain continuous contact with municipality committee.
-Assist in the organization of the delivery processes.
-Implement the distribution activities.
-Maintain continuous contact with the recipient groups in the target areas in order to identify gaps.
-Implement specific assessments in the targeted areas.
-Implement the monitoring activities in targeted areas.
-Communicate promptly any important information related to the targeted area that could affect the implementation of the activities.
-Participate in field staff meetings held in the GVC Office in Gaza City.
-Record of the implemented activities using formats provided by GVC administration.
-Collaborate with the Information Management Expert in order to assure the data updating.

Required Qualifications:
-University degree in social work or any other related field.
-1 - 3 years proven work experience in a similar field.
-Proven experience in data collection and assessment methodologies.
-Ability to work with people in difficult personal circumstances.
-Ability to work in physically challenging field conditions.
-Respectful and appropriate attitude towards the beneficiaries.
-Proven skills in report writing.
-Good command in the written and spoken English.
-Excellent computer skills, particularly in using Excel.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Previous experience with the international and local NGOs is an advantage.
-Resident in the Middle Area.
