Food Security and Livelihoods Field Officer
For an initial 6 months period
The Candidate will:
-Implement all the project related activities at the individual household and community level as planed and agreed with the Project Manager
-Participate in the planning and implementation of project activities (beneficiary selection, field work, training, community mobilization, follow-up, monitoring and evaluation etc…) based on work plans
-Follow up the activities implemented by our national partners as agreed to by the project manager.
-Participate in the design and implementation of food security assessments, surveys or any other project identification or extension studies
-Assist in writing any technical documents related to the implementation of food security activities (terms of reference, technical studies or surveys, tender reports, announcements, technical evaluation, interim and final reports to donors, etc.)
-Write internal monthly technical reports
-Participate in planning and implementation of the food security activities as needed and requested
Profile of the Candidate:
-Higher education in an agriculture related field: plant production, agricultural economics, marketing and food processing
-Three years of relevant professional experience (desirable)
-Experience in working with and coordinating with international and/or national NGOs and the development of food security and community participatory approaches (highly desirable)
-Good communication and interpersonal skills, including training, capacity building and presentation skills
-Excellent English, spoken and written, ability to write clear concise reports and other documents
with a commitment to quality
-Excellent computer skills with knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email/internet
-Drivers licence held for at least two years and with good driving practice
