Food Security Project Manager

For an initial 4 months period
The Candidate will:
-Organize, plan and supervise the implementation of identified Food Security activities in coordination with other departments;
-Continually evaluate the relevance and appropriateness of the intervention in view of the evolution of the context and needs (contradictory results, cultural habits etc.)
-Forecast and follows up project expenses and budget and voucher reconciliation exercises.
-Participates in writing project amendments if needed, in collaboration and coordination with the Food Security Coordinator and Head of Base
-Participate in the design and implementation of Food Security assessments, surveys or any other project identification studies
-Participate in the design of Food Security problem statements, concept papers and project proposals
-Participate in the design and implementation of ACF’s Food Security , Base and country strategy
-Plan and coordinate the team’s activities and assignments;
-Maintain and cultivates relations with coordination bodies, local authorities, counterparts, beneficiaries and other external factors related to ACF activities, in collaboration and coordination with the Head of Base.
-Attend local and national Food Security meetings as requested or required by Food Security Coordinator and Head of Base
-Prepare the monthly report and submit to the Head of Base
Profile of the Candidate:
-Higher education in a related field; studies in international cooperation / development (highly desirable)
-At least three (3) years experience in humanitarian or emergency programming; strong preference for experience in food security projects, especially cash-based interventions
-Demonstrated experience in project design, monitoring and evaluation tools and methods
-Demonstrated project management and direct project implementation experience
-Demonstrated experience in budget development and management
-Experience in working with and coordinating with international and/or national NGOs
-Good communication and interpersonal skills, including training, capacity building and presentation skills
-Ability to effectively network and coordinate with different actors including high level of professionalism and diplomacy
-Strong analytical skills
-Excellent English speaking and writing skills, ability to write clear, concise reports and other documents with a commitment to quality
-Solid organizational skills: the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced multitasking environment
-Strong computer skills: facility with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email/internet software
