Food Security Project Manager - South Sudan
Job Description
Première Urgence Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-religious international aid organisation. Our teams are committed to supporting civilians victims of marginalisation and exclusion, or hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people in order to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency. PU-AMI relies on 30 years of field experience in 50 countries in crisis, as well as on the complementarity of its medical and non-medical expertise, to adapt its programs to each context and to the real needs of the most vulnerable populations. The association leads in average 250 projects by year in the following sectors of intervention: food security, health, nutrition, construction and rehabilitation of infrastructures, water, sanitation, hygiene and economic recovery. PU-AMI is providing assistance to around 3 million people in 19 countries in Africa, Asia, Middle East, Caucasus and France.
PU-AMI has decided to start implementing activities in the area of Aweil North (NBeG State) in South Sudan twofold:
- In Primary Health Care: To take over the management of Primary Health Care (PHCC Majak Kaar in Pamat, Malual Centre Payam) . To this will be associated outreach and community based activities in an area where we can expect around 50.000 IDP, and a very poor resident population, having no other access to PHC but the presence of only one humanitarian actor.
- In FS/L: A project of food distribution through vouchers for 450 households in Aweil North County, and the training of 50 household in agricultural skills.
The Food Security Program Manager will supervise the implementation of livelihood and food security program in Pamat (NBeG). He/she is the responsible for the implementation of the CIAA project in all its components: Community involvement of the beneficiaries, training, workshops, capacities building, and follow up of the voucher for food process.
Main responsibilities:
In strong cooperation with the Field Coordinator, the logistics and administrative coordinators : -Programs: He/She shall ensure the proper implementation and monitoring of the food security program(s) for which He/She is responsible.
-Human Resources: He/She shall recruit and supervise the food security team (PU-AMI employees and any dailyemployed workers).
-Logistics and administration: He/She shall ensure the logistics and administrative monitoring of project(s) for which He/She is responsible.
-Representation: He/She shall represent the organization to partners, authorities and local players involved in the implementation of food security.
-Safety and Security: He/She shall contribute to the observance of safety and security rules at the site and shall transmit all information relating to safety and security to the area coordinator.
Required profile:
- Degree in agricultural techniques
- 2 years minimum of professional experience in the field of agriculture
- Fluency in English, Arabic appreciated
- Proficiency in Office

-Sense of diplomacy, open-mindedness
-Patience and strong ability to stay calm
-Analysis

-Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work
