Job Description

Al Kasaba Theatre and Cinematheque is a non-profit Palestinian cultural organization established in 1970 in Jerusalem, whose main function is to activate cultural life in Palestine. Al Kasaba is currently seeking to fill the position of Fundraising and Communication Coordinator to be based at its offices in Ramallah.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop Al Kasaba communication and fundraising strategies and plans, and follows up the implementation of the plan
- Identify needs and areas of support for Al Kasaba’s interventions in line with Al Kasaba mission, vision, strategies and mandate.
- Consolidating and expanding the donor base of Al Kasaba; generate new prospects and gain new donor commitments, and conducting outreach to all potential and current donors, including actively soliciting funds.
-Identifying prospects and sequencing grant requests to maximize opportunities by expanding the prospect list of funders, conducting prospect research, rating prospects and prioritizing grant requests, developing and managing cultivation activities, meeting with program officers from trusts and foundations to qualify their interest, and conducting prospecting meetings.
-Writing grant request proposals, scheduling grant request meetings, document call reports, ensure prompt and professional follow up on grant request meetings, and develop a donor recognition program.
-Provide relevant information on Al Kasaba work to donors. The Fundraising and Communication
Coordinator has direct contact with donors on both fundraising and reporting matters.
-Draft concept notes and proposals including detailed budgets in a timely and proper manner.
-Assist in strengthening links and maintaining long term relationships between Al Kasaba and donors.
-Develop and coordinate new and creative fundraising activities including corporate and individual
fundraising, event-based activities and web-based fundraising.
-In close coordination with relevant staff,
-Work with all forms of media, and help produce supporting materials such as posters, brochures, websites and newsletters to promote, market and advertise forthcoming events
-Raising awareness of Al Kasaba and its work, at both the local and international level.
-Preparing mail-shots; correspondence and updates to donors
-Prepare reports for both donors and board members of Al Kasaba.
-Implementing effective stewardship; undertake documentation and follow up, prepare donor reports,producing events reports and documentation, and monthly progress reports to direct supervisor.

Desired Qualifications:
-B.A. in social studies, development, English language or any other relevant fields.
-Sound knowledge of the NGO Sector, various donors’ funding policies, and cultural priorities.
-At least 5 years of professional experience with proven record in working on tasks of a similar nature.
-Excellent communication and writing skills in Arabic and English.
-Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
-Ability to handle multi-tasks and meet deadlines.
-Excellent computer and internet knowledge and skills.
