Gaza Grants and Monitoring Officer
Expanded and Sustained Access to Financial Services Program (ESAF) AED seeks candidates for the position “Gaza Grants and Monitoring Officer” Based in Gaza City, the Gaza Grants and Monitoring Officer will serve as the local point person for AED for all of its Gaza activities. In this capacity, the Grants and Monitoring Officer will monitor partner activities, coordinate the travel and logistics for the Gaza Program Manager, AED consultants, and AED partners that do not have sub-offices in Gaza, and support the implementation of AED activities. The officer will also manage the administrative aspects of AED’s operations, which will be limited as AED will base its operations out of another INGO’s office.
Duration: 24 months
Duties and responsibilities:
- Monitor partner activities through site visits and review of quarterly reports and other deliverables
- Support the administration of small grants to individual beneficiaries through communication with partners, review of grant agreements, and maintenance of grants filing system
- Manage the administration of the Gaza office (procure basic furnishings, pay vendors, manage a petty cash account)
- Manage the logistics for AED and consultant expatriate travel into and around Gaza, including hotel and vehicle reservations.
- Carry out translation duties, either of documents or conversations for expatriate staff
- Liaise with AED and INGO partner security officers and recommend actions to preserve the security of AED and consultant personnel
- In the absence of the Gaza program manager, represent AED/ESAF at Gaza focused events; Education: BA is required in one of the following or related fields: Economics, Finance, or International Development
Specific Knowledge Requirements:
- 5 year(s) of relevant experience required
- Grant and contracts management experience
- Livelihoods, enterprise development or finance/microfinance experience
- Administration and logistics experience
- Experience working for international organizations and especially on USAID funded programs; familiarity with USAID regulations.
- Familiarity with security operations and procedures for INGOs
Skills:
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experienced problem-solver, proven ability to develop effective systems.
- Solid interpersonal and negotiating skills.
- Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Proficiency in English required;
- Able to work without close supervision.
