GIS Expert/Urban Planner

In the framework of the EU funded project «Planning networks: innovative instruments for the urban
planning management and the promotion of urban and territorial inclusion in Palestine and Israel»,
DCI-NSA/PVD/2011/261-852 (www.planningnetworks.org), MEDINA- Association for the cooperation
among people, is looking for a GIS EXPERT/URBAN PLANNER.

Required competencies:
-Minimum three years experience in building and operating Geographic Information Systems
(GIS);
-Ability to use the software ArcGIS 9.2
-Degree in Architecture and specialization in Urban and Territorial Planning;
-Knowledge of Arabic, Hebrew and English, written and spoken;
-Valid driving license holder;
-Blue ID holder.

Desiderable competencies:
-Minimum two year experience in urban planning and praparation of urban planning regulations.
-Minimum one year experience in Public Institutions, urban developmentoriented;
-Experience in photo-interpretation;
-Knowledge of the use of GPS;
-Experience in the construction of a GIS for Public Administration;
-Basic knowledge of Participatory GIS, Web GIS and Remote Sensing;
-Ability to use open source software like GRASS or Quantum GIS;

Duration:
12 months, renewable up to final implementation of the project, scheduled for February 2014.

Location:
Taybeh (Israel), with frequent trips to Jerusalem.
