GIS Specialist

Founded in 1990, the Applied Research Institute – Jerusalem (ARIJ) / Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development in the occupied Palestinian territory and the self-reliance of the Palestinian people through greater control over their natural resources. ARIJ works specifically to augment the local stock of scientific and technical knowledge and to introduce and devise more efficient methods of resource utilization and conservation, improved practices, and appropriate technology.

ARIJ is seeking to hire a Geographical informations system specialist GIS or Applied Mathmatics specialist to work in its offices in Bethlehem

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) or Applied Mathematics.
• Minimum of 2 years’ practical experience in GIS and modeling.
• Proficiency in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and other relevant software.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and internet usage.
• Experienced in data collection methods and fieldwork.
• Understanding of coordinate systems with the ability to perform conversions.
• Skilled in using the Global Positioning System (GPS).
• Very good command of English proficiency, particularly in reporting.
• Able to work effectively within a team and under pressure.
• A valid driving license is preferred.
