Job Description
International Relief & Development (IRD) is a charitable, non-profit, non-governmental organization. IRD’s mission is to reduce the suffering of the world’s most vulnerable groups and provide tools and resources needed to increase their self-sufficiency. IRD provides cost-effective relief and development programs in six core sectors (Economic Development; Public Health; Sustainable Food and Agriculture Systems; Infrastructure; Community Stabilization; Democracy, Governance and Community Development; and Relief/Rapid Response) and Special Projects.
 
Currently, IRD is recruiting professionals for an anticipated USAID funded program for providing sustainable and evolving support in humanitarian assistance and recovery projects that address humanitarian and early recovery needs of Gazans. The program will be based in Gaza. Under this program IRD seeks candidates for the following positions :
Grants Coordinator (two posts)
 
Responsibilities:
 
-Oversees the project’s grants relevant to partner NGOs, and serves as a key member of Program Grants Review Committee.
-Prepare and submit for the Program Director review and approval, technical and financial progress and final reports including success stories on grants portfolio implementation.
-Review all reimbursement requests for appropriateness, and ensure that awardees are in compliance with established administrative and financial policies, procedures of IRD and USAID.
-In cooperation with project team, conduct criteria development and needs assessment for partner NGOs and beneficiaries.
-Formalize partnerships with vetted NGOs.
-Ensure each local partner NGO is implementing their grants activities as agreed upon in the signed grant agreements with IRD.
-Carry out, together with project field works, regular field mentoring visits to the grants implementation locations and ensure that the partner NGOs are complying with the signed agreements.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the IRD Gaza Representative and GEGNP Project Manager.
 
Required Skills and Qualifications:

-Three years experience in grants development and monitoring,  USAID experience is a plus
-Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues. Must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team.
-Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. Must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.
-Knowledge in the operating environment of local NGOs.
-A passion for learning new technologies and finding better solutions.
-Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making, and crisis control skills.
-University degree or equivalent experience.
-Working knowledge and experience working with mechanical equipment (computers, copy machines, etc.).
-Ability to use common computer software (spreadsheets, word processing, database, etc.).
