Grants & Development Manager
The Grants and Development Manager prepares proposals and reports for Foundation and Government donors. This position is responsible for supporting The Freedom Theatre in achieving its institutional fundraising goals with a focus on grant writing. The Grants and Development Manager will work closely with the Finance Department, Managing Director and the Fundraising and Development Coordinator. The Grants & Development Manager will be responsible for the Development Department, which at times may include volunteers.
Location: Jenin Refugee camp, Palestine
Primary Responsibilities
- Manages a portfolio of current and prospect donors through meetings, phone calls, and other donor cultivation strategies
-Produces proposals and reports to Foundation and Government donors
-Copyedits and proofreads proposals, applications, reports, donor publications, and other documents
-Produces correspondence regarding grant administration, including thank-you letters, queries, cover letters, renewal letters, and updates
-Prepares documents as part of grant application and reports, including budgets, expense reports, bios, and season play list
-Research and identifies new funding sources
-Oversees Foundation and Government funder credits on all donor publications
-Assists with the preparation and implementation of donor cultivation plans
-Other duties as assigned by the Managing Director
Secondary Responsibilities
-Enters Foundation and Government gifts, and maintains donor information in database
-Liaises with Development staff and other departments in the collection of programme information needed for proposals and reports, including statistics, brochures, programmes, study guides, pictures, thank-you notes, reviews, etc.
-Exhibits responsive follow-through on all donor, supervisor, and staff requests
-Maintains a positive attitude with donors, staff, and volunteers
-Other duties as assigned by the Managing Director
Qualifications
-Outstanding writing and proofreading skills
-Ability to prepare budget information for proposals and reports
-Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
-Working knowledge of Salesforce or other donor database/platform
-Ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds
-Available to work a flexible schedule as needed. This position is full-time requiring timely attendance
-Consistent attention to detail and accuracy
-Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines
-Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
-Previous grant writing experience required (minimum 3 years’ experience although preference will be given to candidates with at least 5 years successful grant writing experience)
-This position requires an excellent command of both Arabic and English
-Background in, or knowledge of, theatre arts preferred but not required
-This position is open to Palestinian nationals or other person with the legal right to live and work in the West Bank
