Since 2020, WeWorld has rapidly expanded its operations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, leading to a need for additional personnel to assist its current emergency operations, and to lead the future expansion in the development area.
- Purpose of the role
Reporting to the Head of Programs-West Bank. Works closely with Head of Operations, Program Managers, and MEAL Manager.
This is a new and exciting role to support the growth in grant-making at WeWorld. The Grants Manager will work under the leadership of the Head of Programs – West Bank to strengthen the fundraising and reporting functions within the organization which will encourage donors to invest in the Palestinian communities through WeWorld.
The Grants Manager will be responsible for researching, preparing, submitting, and managing grant proposals that support WeWorld goals and meet funder guidelines and criteria. S/he will serve as the primary grant writer, with support from the Head of Operations, Program Managers, MEAL Manager, and Protection Expert. S/he will provide quality assurance in compliance reporting and technical reporting for the existing projects implemented by WeWorld.
This position requires superb writing, data analysis, program budgeting, project management skills, with an emphasis on outcome measurement. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills and will be highly organized with the ability to manage a large volume of different program reports and proposals under development. She or he should be able to plan and manage time effectively, prioritize workload, and work under pressure. Strong IT skills (incl. MS Office, research, and databases) are a must.
- Main functions and duties
Proposal Development
Under the leadership of Country Representative and Head of Programs, lead grant proposal development and submission—preparing and organizing materials for proposals, and submitting and monitoring grant applications in area of humanitarian aid, emergency and development, including:
- Researching new funding and business development opportunities;
- Leading proposal design and writing process, coordinating efforts from other colleagues and departments, ensuring proposals are strategically aligned and meet donor requirements. The HoP will provide strategic oversight;
- Drafting proposals/LOIs, grant application narratives, and budgets and collaborate to finalize with program staff, finance, and the Head of Programs;
- Submitting grant applications via paper or online portals, and maintain list of passwords;
- Maintaining master calendar of grants and all associated files and correspondence;
- Keeping an active and updated database containing a donor-log, potential funding opportunities and deadlines of submissions for new and existing donors;
- Maintaining library of grant support documents including resumes, bios, Board/staff diversity lists, etc.;
- Cooperating with Advocacy Manager to ensure acknowledgment of donors via website and social media.
Grant Compliance and Reporting:
- Leading in the development of grants management SOPs and tools.
- Monitoring and maintaining donors' reporting schedules and requirements;
- Support field monitoring of performance indicators and conduct compliance spot checks on the projects and partners in collaboration with the MEAL Department.
- Final revision of contractual reports (progress, mid-term) prepared by Program Managers and MEAL Department, with support from Head of Operations
- Assembling all necessary supporting materials and documents including budget reports, outcome measurements, success stories, etc.; submit reports to donors.
- Building the capacity of Project Managers in reporting and donor-related tasks.
Grants Implementation Management
- Under the supervision of the HoP and in coordination with Program Managers, supporting the preparation and conduct of project kick-off meetings, including reviewing partner capacity assessments and grant agreements.
- Supporting information sessions on main donor guidelines, involving all relevant departments.
- Conducting periodic reviews of project documentation, ensuring proper uploading and archiving by the Program/Project Managers
- Ensuring project amendment requests comply with donor procedures.
Statistics, Trends, Data Gathering, and Communication/Other
- In cooperation with MEAL Manager, researching statistics, trends and data for grant proposals.
- In cooperation with MEAL Manager, supporting data analysis and visualization of program outputs for monitoring and reporting, using tools like Google Data Studio. Report any deviations to the HoP.
- In cooperation with Advocacy and Communication Manager, supporting in drafting external communications and liaising with HQ Communication Department.

Essential Requirements
- Master’s degree in social studies, political science or other related field;
- Minimum 7 years of work experience in a mid-senior/senior position related to grant writing, fundraising, or grants management;
- Demonstrated analytical and persuasive writing skills;
- Superb editing skills, including ability to convey complex information in a clear manner to a diverse audience;
- Strong administrative skills and self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision in effective and efficient manner;
- Expert skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines without sacrificing quality; and
- Demonstrated interest in the mission, vision and values of We World
- High proficiency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken is mandatory.

Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience in working in WASH/Water Governance, Livelihood, Material Assistance, Education or Local Development Planning projects.
