Grants Officer
AMIDEAST seeks to hire a full-time Grants Officer. The Grants Officer will prepare grant proposal
and application documents, orient potential grant recipients, coordinate an adjudication process, and coordinate monitoring and evaluation activities. The Officer will work with PFDP staff in the AMIDEAST Ramallah office and oversee grant compliance of new program components involving small, medium and large grants awarded to individuals, groups of individuals, and institutions using funding support from USAID. The Officer will coordinate elements of grants development, including implementation, monitoring and evaluation and set up any systems (templates, schedules, procedures) for sustainable grants management in collaboration with AMIDEAST Headquarters Grants and Awards staff and West Bank/Gaza accounting staff. The Officer will ensure financial arrangements are appropriate and in place.
Responsibilities include the following:
-Finalize a grants manual and prepare grant proposals and guidelines;
-Work with key AMIDEAST staff and USAID Contracts personnel to ensure that the grants process
is USAID compliant;
-Coordinate the submission and award process for the grants in collaboration with the Grants
Committee;
-Prepare grant contracts according to USAID and AMIDEAST guidelines;
-Ensure financial arrangements for payment and accounting are in place and followed;
-Coordinate monitoring and evaluation activities for the grant programs;
-Assist the rest of the PFDP staff in implementation of other PFDP components.
Requirements:
-At least 2 years of USAID grants experience;
-Strong familiarity with USAID grants procedures;
-Excellent communication skills;
-An ability to work collaboratively with grantees, and independently in terms of scheduling and process;
-Familiarity with standard accounting procedures;
-Fluency in Arabic and excellent written and oral English;
-Flexible schedule and willingness to travel throughout the West Bank and occasional visits to
Gaza;
This is a full-time position based in AMIDEAST’s Ramallah headquarters. Travel to all areas served
by the PFDP program is required.
