Head of Planning & Development

Job Description

BA/LGHR is recruiting a Head of Planning & Development for a leading regional development organization working to support and develop the Palestinian society, culture, and education. The ideal candidate can be based in either Ramallah or Amman but would be eligible to freely move, travel, work, and live in either of the two cities.

Reporting to: General Manager

Type of Contract: 1-year-renewable contract. Highly likely to become permanent depending on performance.

Scope of Work:
The ideal candidate will be fully responsible for achieving the organization's mission through strategic planning, leading the organization's research and development, risk management, generating creative ideas, and building strategic partnerships and alliances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning, Research & Development

Developing the organization’s strategic and executive plans including KPIs.
Building and maintaining strategic partnerships and regional relationships.
Holding presentations workshops and conferences.
Conducting, managing, and tracking all development projects and activities.
Ensuring adherence to professional standards and ethics of research.
Identifying and promoting opportunities for initiatives/programs for the organization.
Conducting periodical evaluation for the organization's performance.

Risk Management

Designing and maintaining an overall risk management record for the organization.
Liaising with internal and external auditors, and solving R&D issues.

Job Requirements

Special Requirements & Skills:

Minimum of 10 years in strategic planning, research, and development.
Extensive knowledge of the Palestinian civil society.
Strong relationships with strategic research and planning institutions.
Advanced writing skills in both Arabic and English languages.
High thinking & analytical skills.
Dynamic and proactive.
Able to travel regionally & internationally.

Total Years of Experience:

Minimum 10+ years of experience.

Education & Certificates Required:

Ph.D. degree in scientific, literary, or humanitarian fields (or double Masters’ degree).
Published relevant research papers.

Location:
Ramallah & Amman.

Languages Required:
Fluent in Arabic & English.
