War Child Holland’s programme in the oPt

In the oPt, War Child works with partners to create an inclusive, protective psychosocial care system for Palestinian children and young people affected by conflict related violence, including in domestic and juvenile justice settings. We help build a network of support, from community interventions to specialized psychological and legal services. We work with communities, families, parents, caregivers, youth and children, as well as professionals, with the aim to provide a safety net for children and young people in the West Bank including East Jerusalem, and Gaza.

Your profile

Relevant tertiary education background
Demonstrated knowledge in MHPSS and child protection programming, and child safeguarding
Demonstrated ability for high level representation (e.g. donor liaison)
Proven high-level proposal and budget development skills
Knowledge on monitoring and evaluation tools and methods
Substantial experience in (strategic) programme design and quality assurance
Experience in management and development of senior and junior staff and partners
Willingness and ability to work in Jerusalem and conduct regular travel to Gaza
Fluent in written and spoken English

Desirable

Basic knowledge on research and data analysis desirable
Knowledge and experience in oPt desirable
Arabic language desirable

You will be located in the oPt, based in East Jerusalem with travel to other locations in the West Bank and Gaza and occasional travel to Amsterdam.
The expected duration is at least 1 year in this position, with the intention to prolong.

oPt is a family duty station. An expatriate is allowed to bring a partner and children, but will be expected to travel regularly and for extended periods to Gaza, where partner and children cannot accompany.
