Health Field Officer

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent
organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of
war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance.

The ICRC in Gaza is looking for a candidate to fill in the following post

Place of employment: Gaza
Type of Contract : One year
Starting Date : January 2011

Minimum Requirements of the Post
-Registered nurse or higher degree with experience. Newly graduated will be considered.
-Educated in/or experience in teaching/training of nursing staff
-Independent and self motivated as well as a team worker
-Good written and spoken English is essential
-Computer knowledge Word and Excel
-Capable to translate documents and other lecture from Arabic to English and vice versa
-Monitoring tools and methodologies, Results Based Management (RBM)
-Ability to represent the ICRC and conduct activities while abiding by the Principles of the Movement
Job description
-Assist and support the ICRC ED (Emergency Department) team
-Facilitate access and maintain contacts with the management in Shifa hospital and the ED
-Advise the ICRC ED team on the context
-Assist the ICRC ED team in matters related to training and capacity building, including translation
-Contribute to developing Logistics frame (RBM), define indicators, plan activities and evaluate
-Participate in planned activities according to the objectives
-Contribute to the internal reporting in the Delegation related to the ED programme
-Available for other activities of the health department if deemed necessary
-Maintain good relations with other ICRC departments and the EMS (Emergency Medical Service)

In accordance with the Resolution No. 17, 2010 of the Gaza Ministry of Interior, applicants who
have a running contract with a Ministry will not be selected.
