HI /consultant

HI is an international organization working in the field of disability. HI has conducted a training course for a group of persons with disabilities on “How to start your own business”, the trainees have submitted feasibilities studies, and HI will provide 12 grants to 12 trainees to enable them to start their own micro-businesses. For this purpose HI seeks to recruit a part time consultant in the field of micro business development and implementation, the consultancy will be for a period of three months starting from 1st March 2010 till 31st May 2010.

Qualifications required:
-BA or Master Degree in economics, micro business development and management or any related field.
-The consultant should have a wide experience in the field of small business, and should act as a mentor for 12 persons with disabilities who have started their own businesses with grants from HI.
-The consultant should have extensive experience in the field of marketing and promotion of products according to the Gaza Strip context.

Consultant Duties:
-Provide start up advice and support to 12 small business owners.
-Provide feedback and advice on various aspects of the business plan.
-Provide advice on the administrative and financial management of the 12 granted projects
-Complete a field visit once a week to the 12 granted projects
-Monitor the running of the 12 granted projects and report any difficulties to HI
-The consultant should be able to provide advice on effective bidding and pricing, the cost of procurement of raw material and the pricing of the various products and services that have direct impact on the small business enterprise.
-The consultant should be able to make any suggestions for the improvement of the bidding and the pricing method being adopted by the small business enterprise.
-Report to HI on weekly basis about conclusions of monitoring visits.
