JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Business Partner works directly with the Director of International Human Resources and Recruiting to ensure that human resources and recruitment activities in the Middle East region are well managed. This position will support the continued success of the organization through strategic planning for human resources and recruitment functions in the region and interact where necessary with the Regional Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Provides strategic business partnerships to country teams; provides coaching with focus on performance management, leadership development and conflict management
-Leads career development activities, including talent identification, capacity assessment and employee development
-Develops and implements a recruitment and talent strategy to support International Medical Corps’ mission and goals
-Develops innovative approaches to identify qualified applicants in international humanitarian recruitment markets
-Provides training, coaching, and capacity building to human resources staffs in country offices
-Provides training to hiring managers on human resources policies, procedures and best practices
-Ensures consistent application and execution of International Medical Corps policies in hiring, termination and discipline of international and national staff
-Facilitates the resolution of human resource administration issues
-Ensures international and national staff receive staff care support when needed
-Manages the internal client relationship and ensures a high level of customer satisfaction using problem solving ability, negotiation skills, responsiveness and continual communication
-Visits countries within the Middle East region as needed and completes a report for each visit
-Conducts SEA trainings within the region as needed
-Leads the annual review of benefit packages for the region ensuring consultation with relevant stakeholders
-Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION:
-Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources, International Development and/or in a relevant field of study
-Five years of experience in Human Resources, of which at least three years in developing countries or resource deprived environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
-Supervisory experience and ability to work with staffs at all levels of the organization
-Experience with international emergency relief, international development and humanitarian work is essential
-Knowledge of international humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates of donors, UN agencies, and other NGOs
-Knowledge and experience of the Red Cross Code of Conduct and Humanitarian Charter
-Profound cross-cultural awareness and insight into health care issues
-Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
-Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations
-Ability to relate to and motivate staff effectively
-Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources
-Excellent decision making skills
-Team player and strong communication skills, both oral and written
-Proficient in computer applications, especially with MS Word and MS Excel, MS PowerPoint a plus
-Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
-Ability to speak fluent Arabic is preferred
