Duration : 12 months including probation period

Terre des Hommes Italia (TDH It) is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting children against all forms of violence or abuse and guaranteeing their right to health, education and life. TDH It, which is part of the TDH International Federation, is currently working in 20 countries worldwide, carrying out humanitarian interventions and development projects in the sectors of education, mother and child health, income generation, water and sanitation, child protection and rehabilitation, to the benefit of thousands of children, their families and communities.
TDH It works in Palestine since 2000, and it has implemented several educational, health and psycho-social interventions together with its National Partners and with Local Authorities in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
In May 2016, TDH It has started the 3-year project ‘Valuing diversity: inclusive education intervention for East Jerusalem children’, (ENI/2015/359-883) co-funded by the European Commission (main donor), UEFA Foundation for Children and Terre des Hommes Italia, which aim is promoting inclusive policies, practices and culture in 10 Awqaf schools located in East Jerusalem.
Within the frame of its activities, TDH It is looking for:
1 Inclusive Education Field Staff (IEFS) – full time
The IEFS will be part of an educational team that promotes inclusive practices within the schools and in the community.
He/she will be committed to helping children with additional needs and difficulties overcome any barrier to learning and to promoting the early recognition of signs of difficulties and additional needs; they will coach and inspire teachers, learning support staff and other professionals in targeted schools to identify and deploy team resources in effective and creative ways, and meet the requirements of individual children.
Qualifications and experience:
-A Degree in Special/Inclusive Education, Education.
-At least 5 years’ work experience in schools or other educational settings, especially with upper basic level (fifth to ninth grades).
-Experience in teachers couching and coordination roles will be an asset
-Competence and a solid commitment towards promoting inclusion, the principles of development and the organizational goals of TDH It
-Knowledge of models of learning and principles of effective teaching, assessment of learning and AEN strategies
-Sound organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team and to interact with diverse stakeholders
-Good communication skills and capacity to build consensus and promote the implementation of a shared vision
Language and Computer skills:
-Fluency in written and spoken Arabic;
-Fluency in spoken English and excellent skills in written English, especially for reporting purposes;
-Good computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point)
