JOB Advertisement FOR ADVOCACY INFORMATION
AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
Job Title:Information and Communications Officer
Purpose of Job:To support the Palestinian Vision by taking responsibility for the range and quality of information services and communication with its members and other stakeholders and for exploiting the opportunities for communication afforded by Palestinian vision website; ensuring that a participative approach is adopted in all work with members, and that mutual support is encouraged, collaboration facilitated and good practice shared.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1-Writing, editing and design
-Produce a range of copy for members – including information for the website, regular bulletins, details of forthcoming events, etc;
-Produce copy for various external audiences – including annual report, press releases and other PR/marketing materials, factual information about PV and its partners, etc;
-Draft and edit both paper and electronic publications as required.
2-Advocacy and staff capacity building
-Train the staff on social media and the use of different tools of advocacy when needed
-Design and plan advocacy campaigns and lobbying to related issues in Pal Vision
-Research and analysis of cases applicable to advocate for in targeted areas
1-Managing Palestinian Vision’s website and Social Media Pages
-Manage and maintain PV website content;
-Ensure the accurate integration of data between our membership database and the website;
-Ensure the PV database holds accurate and up to date information regarding our members and other contacts as required.
-Ensure the quality of all information provided on the website and written information produced for members.
-Monitor and report on media coverage of PV.
2-General Duties
-To act as a member of the PV team and carry out any reasonable duties as requested by the line manager
Required academic and professional qualification/ work experience
-Preferable a Jerusalem ID holder
-BA in media, journalism or any other related field with extensive knowledge of Information Technology.
-Excellent in English and Arabic writing and speaking
-Ability to design advocacy campaigns
-Experience in NGO work
-Excellent communication skills
Working Time and Duty Station
Working time: 40 hours weekly (with flexibility to work extra time and in the week end)
Duty Station: Jerusalem Office
