The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) seeks:
Information Officer, ICLA
East Jerusalem

NRC re-established its presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territories in January 2009 and is developing programme activities in the sectors of shelter and the provision of information, counseling and legal assistance (ICLA). The long term objective of the programme is to contribute to improved protection and living conditions for refugees and internally displaced persons in the OPT. The ICLA programme is concentrating on providing legal assistance, particularly related to housing, land and property issues, for those displaced or facing displacement in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.
The ICLA programme requires an Information Officer to assist with the management of ICLA project data; monitoring and evaluation; and reporting. The Information Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager.

Primary Duties
-Establishment of an ICLA database;
-Overall maintenance and management of the ICLA database including inputting data and preparing weekly and monthly reports;
-Assisting in the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools in line with NRC and Donor reporting requirements;
-Preparation of monthly reports for the NRC core activity database;
-Providing the Programme Manager and Project Coordinators with all necessary project information for donor and other reports;
-Accompanying ICLA staff on field visits as required; and
-Carry out other relevant duties as requested by the Supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications Required.
-Qualified holder of a relevant administration or related certification with a minimum of 3 years work experience.
-Experience in establishing and managing database programmes is essential.
-Experience working for a non-governmental organisation is an advantage.
-Excellent command of Arabic and English both written and oral. Knowledge of Hebrew is an advantage.

Contract period: 6 months, with possible extension
Salary/benefits: According to NRC’s Salary Scale and TOE.
