Innovation and Technology Senior Specialist
The Innovation and Technology Senior Specialist is responsible to establish and facilitate projects across various industries of the Palestinian economy. The senior specialist will be expected to bring economic partnership opportunities between Palestinian, regional, and U.S. institutions to collaborate on projects fostering transfer of technology and know-how as well as opportunities for economically applied research and development.
Specific Functions and Responsibilities of the Technical Coordinator and Drafting Specialist:
- Lead efforts to research, identify, develop, and implement R&D partnerships.
- Lead the technical aspects of development and implementation for R&D grants.
- Working closely with component one team leader for introduction of disruptive, paradigm-changing innovation in at least three sectors, that make a significant and lasting contribution to economic growth. Develop plans and strategies to reach this objective.
- Manage transformational projects within the designated sectors. This includes project scope, design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Research, identify, and develop and lead other R&D-related initiatives, including initiatives that connect the Palestinian academic, research, and private-sectors together with their regional and international counterparts.
- Supervise at least one associate and coordinate with all project teams, working collaboratively.
- Develop work plans and report on progress, challenges, and successes related to innovation, R&D initiatives.
- Perform other activities to further BREB’s overall objectives, in particular related to innovation, R&D partnerships.

Basic qualifications include:
- University degree in economics, business, trade, entrepreneurship, information technology, or another relevant field
- Minimum 10 years of experience working in R&D, product development, or a related field at the local level; work or engagement with international R&D or similar institutions preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Palestinian R&D landscape in one or more sectors; knowledge of the R&D and innovation landscape in other countries in the region or U.S. is preferred.
- Experience developing or reviewing R&D proposals and/or grants preferred.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with team members, stakeholder firms, regional officials, the private sector, NGOs, etc.
- Fluent level of spoken and written English and Arabic required.
