Inspector
Sustainable Engineering Solutions (SES), a multi-disciplinary consulting company, is seeking to recruit a highly qualified candidate for the role of Inspector for the East Jerusalem Health Care Facilities (Al Makassad Hospital and Princess Basma Center), implemented under the USAID West Bank and Gaza Architecture and Engineering Services program.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily site activities with contractors and suppliers.
- Conduct regular inspections for compliance with design, safety, and environmental standards.
- Ensure contractor work meets company quality standards and approved plans.
- Monitor construction activities for adherence to codes and specifications.
- Provide support to resolve site issues and ensure timely progress.
- Assess contractor work and recommend payments.
- Maintain records and compile periodic reports as required.
- Verify accuracy of Taking Off Sheets and resolve discrepancies.
- Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance, providing necessary feedback.
- Create daily reports on inspections, progress, and issues encountered.
- Offer technical guidance to construction crews to ensure project compliance.
- Identify and report construction deficiencies and safety hazards.
- Collaborate with the Construction Supervision Engineer and Project Manager on issues.
- Oversee testing and commissioning.
- Enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.

Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience in construction inspection.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction.
- Proficient in the use of computers and office software packages
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Building/Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- Experience managing projects in a healthcare setting, including hospitals is considered an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good knowledge of the Israeli Construction Code and International Construction Standards related to building works.
- Experience with USAID is considered an asset.
- Jerusalem ID is considered an asset.
Required Experience:
- Al least 8 years of experience as a Buildings/Civil Engineer or Architect.
- A minimum 5 years’ demonstrable experience in on-site construction of buildings or construction supervision of building works.
