Job Description
CHF International is a non-profit international development organization acting as a catalyst for long-lasting positive change in low and moderate income communities around the world, helping them to improve their social, economic, and environmental conditions. With funding provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), CHF International in the West Bank and Gaza is implementing a number of programs targeting local community development, institutionalizing good local governance practices, and building the capacity of a number of Local Government Units (LGUs) to govern more effectively and responsively meet citizens' needs by improving the efficiency of their service delivery mechanisms. As such, CHF is seeking to recruit a number of highly organized, dynamic, motivated and qualified individuals to assume the following positions, on renewable yearly contracts:
Institutional Development Officers-WB (3 vacancies)
Location: Hebron - Ramallah (2)
Responsibilities:
this position will be responsible for proper follow-up and coordination for the implementation of all institutional development activities in his/her area according to preset deliverables and timeframe; conducting all needs assessment related to institutional development interventions in partner LGUs, this position will be also responsible for all logistics preparations relevant to the skills enhancement and training activities implemented in his/her area, coordinating with relevant LGUs in the WB for the implementation of related program activities in his/her area; conducting regular field visits (both pre-scheduled and/or as requested by the Institutional Development Team Leader) to partner LGUs in order to assess and evaluate impact of relevant program activities implemented, coordinating with other program team members the gathering of relevant field data for reporting implementation progress vs. planned activities; in addition, reporting to the Institutional Development Team Leader and/or Knowledge Management Unit for regular progress reports; this includes the preparation of activities summary sheets and full reports. Additional reports and information should be provided as requested.
Key qualifications:
-A bachelor degree in Business Administration, Community Development or relevant field.
-At least 4 years of experience preferably in project coordination, and supervision. Proven experience in the implementation of local government sector
related projects is a plus.
-Good experience in data gathering techniques and presentation.
-Demonstrated ability to report in English and Arabic.
-Demonstrated ability to work with LGUs, community members and groups during different project phases. Awareness of community participation approaches in planning, implementation and monitoring is a plus.
-Ability to work under pressure extended working hours, and willingness and ability to travel to various locations in the West Bank is a must.
-Excellent Computer skills in Core Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Access). Knowledge in MS Project is a plus.
-A valid driving license.
