INSTRUCTIONAL LEADER

AMIDEAST, an international non-profit organization in the West Bank and Gaza, is seeking part-time qualified candidate for its USAID funded education program-Model Schools Network (MSN) Program. AMIDEAST is recruiting for the position of Instructional Leader to be based in its office in Gaza: Department      Gaza Field Office
Supervisor    MSN PROGRAM MANAGER
Working Hours/Days Part-Time

The Instructional Leader is responsible for overseeing the quality and coherence of the training components for school teachers and principals of all MSN partner schools and providing strategic thinking and guidance on all training activities.
Specifically, the position is responsible for the following duties:
-Provides strategic guidance on the design and implementation of all professional development
-Regularly meets with math and science trainers, and assists in the selection of new trainers and local providers
-Conducts regular outreach in terms of meeting with school principals, attends training events, classroom visits and liaises with the school principals.
-Ensures that the goals and quality of the professional development programs, particularly in math and science meet the highest possible standard
-Assist in the revision and update of the content of professional development materials for math and science. 
-Support the MSN in general and the Gaza Program Manager in particular in the development and delivery of the School Improvement Planning Process
-Report and document best practices and lessons learned so that it can be integrated into the delivery of the program as it unfolds.
-Support the selection and recruitment of external consultants when needed
-Regularly liaise with all other MSN program staff and relevant partners (community outreach, M&E, procurement and finance to ensure a smooth complement between various components so that the professional development component achieves its stated aims.
-Assist other staff in the development of math and science content for the VLE and ensure follow through from trainers and local providers so that the moodle-based server effectively complements other face-to-face training delivery.
-Any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Required Skills
-Master degree in education or relevant field required
-Experience implementing/managing basic education quality improvement programs
-Fluency in Arabic and good English
-Experience with innovative school strategic planning
-Experience with school improvement/reform processes
-Experience with K-12 curriculum development in, or math and science
-Experience with development of materials, workshops, and training modules for replication within a school network
-Experience in teacher training
-Experience introducing ICTs in instruction preferred
-Understanding of public and private Palestinian school systems
-Clear understanding of the MoEHE system and lines of administrative authority
-Strong interpersonal skills, with proven track record of managing relationships with a diverse range of partners, staff, and donors
