INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY WITH ACTIONAID PALESTINE

ActionAid Palestine welcomes young people, especially young women, to take advantage of its internship opportunities in both programs and operations.  The internship program aims to provide a practical learning environment for young people, to enable them to gain knowledge and understanding and obtain work experience in the development sector.

An internship is not a regular position in ActionAid’s staffing structure. This Internship opportunity now open has learning objectives and focus on finance and administration placement. Internship location will be in ActionAid Palestine office in Bethlehem.

Responsibilities:

The Intern’s primary responsibility is to undertake the assigned finance and administration activities aimed at furthering her/his learning objectives to the best of her /his ability as directed by the Senior Finance Officer. The Intern will be responsible and will focus on learning the following:

  • Maintaining petty cash records in accordance with ActionAid’s policies and procedures.
  • Prepare bank payment vouchers in line with AAP system & procedures.
  • Record all financial transactions in the Financial System.
  • Perform monthly finance related responsibilities of bank reconciliation, and financial reports for the different projects AAP is implementing.
  • Ensure all finance documentation is appropriately filed in soft and hard copy and kept confidential.
  • Follow up on ActionAid Palestine’s partner organizations.
  • Provide clerical assistance to ActionAid’s offices.

Allowance & Insurance:

  • Intern will be paid a fixed monthly allowance (USD700.00) and will be refunded any other costs incurred in the course of official work.
  • Intern will be covered by ActionAid’s medical and accident insurance scheme.

Job Requirements

Essential Criteria:

  • Energetic with a commitment to working for the development.
  • Intermediate level of English.
  • University graduate in accounting/finance/business administration
  • Between 22-27 years
  • Must be available immediately and for full time work placement for six months with the possibility of extension up to 3 months as decided by ActionAid SMT.
  • Placement will be based in Bethlehem.
