Islamic Relief/Finance Manager

 

Islamic Relief (IR) is a humanitarian NGO working in Palestine since 1998. Islamic Relief helps the
needy people without regard to creed, race, gender, or ethnicity. It works on achieving economic and
social welfare through its joint development and emergency programmes with the local community.
Islamic Relief announces the following vacancy for its office in Gaza.

Title: Finance Manager.
Ref: F-06-2010
Location: Gaza Office
Duration: one year – renewable (full time)

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
-To assist in the preparation of a country strategy with the Country Director.
-Responsible for all finance operations including, Budgeting, Budget-tracking, Balance-sheet
Management, procurements.
-To be responsible for providing direction, supervision and management to the finance team at
the office (at least 20 employees)
-Supervise and prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly progress reports on all IR’s admin
and finance activities in Palestine.
-Responsible for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all IR’s finance operations in Palestine.
-Co-ordinate the efforts for fundraising funding institutions based in Palestine.

Candidates must posses the following competencies:
-A post graduation degree in a related field
-10 years experience in overseeing financial systems of a large multifunctional organisation
-Experience of designing & implementing Finance filling systems and manuals
-A proven record of effective management
-Experience in budgeting, Budget-tracking, Balance-sheet Management, and Internal Audit.
-Fluency in English (writing and speaking) is essential.
-Excellent report writing skills
