End Date: March 2025 (with the possibility of renewal)

This is a full-time position and working hours are from Sunday to Thursday, 08:00 – 16:00.

PREMIERE-URGENCE INTERNATIONAL (PUI) is an international, apolitical, non-religious, and non-profit French organization intervening in 23 countries worldwide. PUI aims to provide a global response to the fundamental needs to people affected by humanitarian crises, from the emergency to the restoration of their autonomy and dignity. Première-Urgence and Aide Médicale Internationale merged in 2011 to offer a better range of lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to communities affected by extreme adversity.

PUI's humanitarian and development aid strategy in oPt focuses on providing support to populations affected by the coercive environment and subsequent IHL/HR violations in both the West Bank (WB) and the Gaza Strip (GS). PUI's programming incorporates interventions in several sectors, aiming at the prevention of livelihoods' loss and displacement as a consequence of protection threats, lack of services (health, education, WASH), and lack of access to agricultural lands or job opportunities.

Overall Objective

Under the supervision of the Logistics Coordinator, the IT Assistant is responsible to follow up all the IT tasks that will be requested from the line manager. 

Specific objectives and linked activities:

General responsibilities

  • The IT assistant will be in charge of follow up IT equipment, of being available for the users to provide daily support. He/she will identify the needs and follow up on communication means (phones, internet, Sat phones). He/she will work on reporting and train the users with the support of the Logistics Coordinator. He/She will be based in the Coordination Office and will have regular professional trips to other PUI bases for supporting.

Follow up of IT Equipment

  • He/she will assist in identification of IT equipment needs.
  • He/She will assist in Purchase of IT equipment.
  • He/She will check the quality and quantity of IT equipment when receiving and issuing. 
  • He/She will keep updated the asset follow up with all IT equipment, he/she will be responsible to have the document signed every time an asset is handed over to a staff. 
  • He/She will be in charge of troubleshooting of IT equipment. 
  • He/'She will recommend actions for the management of IT equipment. 
  • He/She will assess relevant suppliers and shops for purchases of IT equipment according to the procedures (orders, quotations, deliveries, registration). 
  • He/She will manage the stock of IT materials (storing, dispatching, and inventories). 

Maintenance of network, hardware and software

  • He/She will be responsible for troubleshooting of IT Network. 
  • He/She will manage to setup internet, e-mail and the network. 
  • He/She will maintain software and hardware of network in the office. 
  • He/She will maintain software update and hardware of IT equipment, He/She will install of software and hardware where and when necessary. 
  • He/She will install and maintain shared printers between computers. 
  • He/She will supervise the installation / update of antivirus, software, hardware of the IT equipment in all bases. He/She will supervise the maintenance of computer systems in all bases and assess the needs for IT purchase if necessary. 
  • He/She will perform backups and cleaning of the IT computers on monthly basis for all bases. 
  • He/She will follow up in a file what has been done, on which PC, at which date, and the status He/She will manage the Internet systems maintenance and installation in all bases (when necessary) .

Training of staff on IT topics

  • He/She will train the staff in basic IT issues (backup, antivirus scan, use of e-mail/outlook, basics of excel, etc.).

Follow up of communications means

  • He/She will follow up on internet contracts and phone lines. 
  • He/She will follow up on existing email addresses and needs for new ones..

Reporting

  • He/She will be in charge of writing reports about consumption of communications (phones, internet, Sat phones). 
  • He/She will be in charge of filing the sat phone report. 
  • He/She will be in charge of analyzing the use of phone credit and reporting potential abuses.

Specific Tasks

  • Make sure that all the computers of the mission have a licensed version of:

             Windows.

             Office

             Pack.Antivirus.

  • Install the Keepass App for all the computers of the mission and train the users how to use it.
  • Ensure that all the Microsoft accounts of the mission have Multi-factor authentication (MFA).

Required Knowledge and Skills

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: 

Required: 

  • University degree in IT, or related fields.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: (Humanitarian, International)

Required: 

  • 2 years in the IT Field.

KNOELEDGE AND SKILLS

Desirable:

  • Excellent computer skills to manage all the tasks listed above.
  • Capacity to fix daily problems for hardware, software, antivirus, internet.
  •  Very good knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Organisation skills.
  • Communication skills.

LANGUAGES

Desirable:

  • Arabic and English.
