Job Description

Chemonics International seeks an experienced IT Associate, to work in USAID-funded Building Regional Economic Bridges (BREB) activity.  

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. 

The IT Associate will be responsible for providing professional IT support to BREB office and staff.

Specific Functions and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Address employee-reported IT issues in a professional manner over the phone, via email, and in person.
  • Provide support to end-user applications in the Windows 11 environment such as Microsoft Office 365 and other applications employees may use for their daily work.
  • Configures laptops and sets up computers for new users.
  • Assist in managing the acquisition of software licenses, and coordinate with BREB Home Office IT for renewals and requests.
  • Inspects newly purchased laptops, mobile phones, and other IT hardware such as monitors, printers, etc.
  • Help identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues encountered by BREB network users.
  • Participate in IT procurement activities, including vendor recommendations and technical evaluation.
  • Support the operations department in maintaining a detailed inventory list of IT equipment and that all end users are recorded in compliance with donor rules and regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain internet connectivity, e-mail delivery, monitor bandwidth usage, and recommend upgrades when required.
  • Help BREB staff in submitting ChemTickets related to any Technology matters.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all issues, and records.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field required.
  • 1-5 years of experience in similar IT roles.
  • Previous work experience with donor funded projects is desirable.
  • Able to work well with others, work with minimal supervision, and with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office 365; knowledge of SmartSheets, SurveyMonkey and FormSite will be considered as an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English and Arabic
