Islamic Relief (IR) is a humanitarian NGO working in Palestine since 1998. Islamic Relief helps the needy people without regard to creed, race, gender, or ethnicity. It works on achieving economic and social welfare through its joint development and emergency programmes with the local community. Islamic Relief announces the following vacancy for its office in Gaza.

Title: IT Specialist.
Ref: ITS/A/13/2010
Location: Gaza Office
 Duration: one year (full time), renewable

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

-To ensure the implementation and management of the servers (files, print and e-mail)infrastructure, their upgrades, capacity planning, security and audit.
-To manage the accounts, keeping updated the different directories (e.g. address book).
-To manage the internal LAN, the IP address allocation and other network equipment.
-To give technical assistance to users, organise and provide training and coaching to users on ITmatters, especially on the MS Office
-To ensure installation/reconfiguration/reinstallation of applications, diagnosing and providing solutions to users difficulties.
-To provide for virus prevention and cure through tools and to keep track of updates on the virus prevention.
-To ensure that all precautions are taken concerning sensitive information.

Candidates must possess the following competencies:
1-Bachelor degree in computer science, computer Engineering or related filed, plus MCSE certificate
2-Three years experience in technical support,2 years preferably in the following fields: server administration, network administration, IT hardware maintenance and support.
3-Very good knowledge of:

-Telecommunications (PSTN and networks (WAN, Ethernet...)
-Hardware environment (PC, Server: RAID configuration, peripherals, cabling).

4-Excellent written and spoken English (essential) as well as Arabic language.
