Justice Institutions and Courts Strengthening Specialist

A justice sector development project based in Ramallah seeks to fill the following vacant positions: Justice Institutions and Courts Strengthening Specialist

The Justice Institutions and Courts Strengthening Specialist is responsible for implementing all activities related to the justice institutions strengthening and all activities related to the strengthening and supporting court procedures and functions. S/He will be working particularly with the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and the High Judicial Council (HJC).

Tasks include:
- Working with MOJ to strengthen legal drafting, strategic planning, and other functions.
- Supporting the creation of more efficient and transparent administration for court processes and procedures.
- Working with court staff directly to identify areas for improved court administration and increased coordination between the courts, the HJC, and the MOJ.
- Working closely with the Component 1 leader to re-engineer key business processes, automate court functions as needed, and train all relevant court personnel in revised processes.
- Working closely with all short-term advisors in the areas of court administration, court automation, and court processes dealing with the MOJ.
- Additional duties as required by the COP or Component One Leader.

Related Requirements, Education and Qualifications:
- Minimum of a BA degree in law or a relevant field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Strong Arabic and English skills
- knowledge of justice sector institutions in the West Bank and Gaza
- Experience working on institutional strengthening and capacity building
- Ability to network and work closely with stakeholders
- Previous work on USAID or other donor-funded projects highly preferred
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills
