Lab Technician

Position: Lab Technician 

Type: Full-time, On-site 

Location: West Bank, Palestine (Ramallah/Nablus) 

Salary:  ₪2,680 - ₪4,020 / month

Reporting to: General Practitioner 

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a leading UK charity dedicated to improving the health and dignity of Palestinians affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. With a focus on the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, we provide vital health and medical care to those in need, particularly in crisis zones like Gaza. As part of our commitment to meeting the growing needs of the communities we serve, we're expanding our team. 

MAP is seeking a Lab Technician who will be responsible for supporting mobile clinic operations by collecting samples, performing rapid lab tests in the field, and ensuring accurate reporting of results to clinic doctors. Key responsibilities include managing lab supplies, recording and analyzing lab data, and preparing samples according to clinic protocols. The role also involves maintaining meticulous records and contributing to reports on test findings.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in laboratory science or a related field, with valid licensure to practice in the oPt. Extensive experience as a lab technician is required, ideally including work in remote communities and conducting rapid field testing, preferably with an (I)NGO. Proficiency in both English and Arabic, along with strong communication skills, is essential. Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic environment with shifting priorities is also key.
