Lab Technician
St John Eye Hospital Group is the leading provider of eye care in East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza Strip. The main Hospital is in Jerusalem and has centers in Hebron, Anabta, Kufur Aqab and in Gaza. In addition to our extensive range of specialist services, to provide full and comprehensive high standard refraction and optemtric service to the patients attending the outreach clinic in collaboration with the medical, nursing and AHP staff.
St. John is currently seeking to recruit an experienced Lab Technician on part-time basis (40%) - 3 days/week.
The position will be based at the main Hospital in Jerusalem.

To apply you should have the following:
- Bachelor, preferably master’s degree in biology or clinical laboratory form a recognized university.
- It is preferable to have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a molecular biology research lab or a clinical genetics lab (this should have included PCR & sequencing analysis, DNA & RNA extraction, cell line growth, IHC, western blot & other molecular biology techniques).
- Good computer skills including office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & experience in references in referring to known genetics websites for research purposes & analysis of results.
- Preferable experience in the field of Bioinformatics & analysis of whole exome results.
- Motivation to do research & ability to plan projects in the field of ophthalmic genetics.
- Ability to work as a team & flexibility in working hours according to the needs of the lab.
- Willingness to teach junior staff & students.
- Fluent English Language.
