Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF – Doctors Without Borders) is an international humanitarian aid organization that assists in more than 70 countries with populations in distress, victims of natural or manmade disasters, and victims of armed conflicts, without discrimination and irrespective of religion, creed or political affiliation. To support this work, we are looking for :
CASUAL LABOURERS (FOR OUR POOL OF DAILY WORKERS)
Location: Jenin
Contract type: Daily Workers ONLY (very short-term and specific tasks - no contracts)
Main tasks
- Performing work in support of skilled workers in the maintenance of MSF premises, facilities and equipment in the areas of electricity, plumbing and building structures, etc. This can include but are not limited to the following:
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Assisting MSF staff carrying and organising items if necessary (incl. manually handling, labelling and storing boxes)
- Performing simple and minor repairs, maintenance and construction works e.g. changing light bulbs, repairing locks, building metal shelves, painting surfaces, archiving documents
- Doing the gardening in order to maintain clean and organized all areas in the MSF premises
- Ensuring cleanliness of working, common areas and the proper use, storage and maintenance of the equipment and tools provided.
- Informing superiors of any incident that may occur in the course of his/her work.

CANDIDATE PROFILE - SELECTION CRITERIA:
Education
- High School level (adequate numeracy and literacy skills) – essential
Experience
- Working in a storage or warehouse – desirable
- Holder of a valid driving license – desirable
Language:
- Arabic is mandatory, and English is desirable.
Competencies:
- Capacity to appropriately lift and move weights up to 30 kg
- Capacity to manually handle and carry small loads and climb a ladder safely
- Capacity to assemble shelves
- Capacity to follow simple instructions
- Capacity to evaluate hazards, apply safe working practices and report risks of harm
- Capacity and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team
- Capacity of adaptation to different work situations (incl. flexibility, versatility, curiosity)
