Job Description
Chemonics International seeks Legal Researcher for its USAID-funded Palestinian Justice Enhancement Program (PJEP) that works to strengthen justice sector institutions and the rule of law in the West Bank and Gaza. The legal researcher will assist the trainers/senior judges to appropriate training of new and existing judges.
Contract Duration: 3 months

Responsibilities Include:
-Determine the Arabic and English further reading materials for each relevant
course according to the course plan in cooperation with the trainer and the PJEP Component 2 leader.
-Determine the relevant Palestinian, Arab, and foreign High Court precedents in cooperation with the trainer and the PJEP Component 2 leader.
-Photocopy the materials and precedents.
-Design and carry out background research papers necessary to develop the course materials.
-Implement any other related tasks requested by PJEP.
-Develop a weekly progress report and a final report.

Education, Qualifications, and/or Equivalent Experience:
-Minimum of BA degree in law.
-A minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant field
-Strong communications and interpersonal skills
-Ability to work independently
-Previous work with USAID or other donor-funded projects is highly preferred.
-Strong Arabic and English skills.
-Excellent computer skills.
