Job Description
The Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is a Swiss-based international non-governmental organisation dedicated to children assistance and protection. Tdh is currently starting a 2 years project aimed at fighting worst forms of child labour in the Gaza Strip in partnership with Beit Lahiya Development Association (BLDA).
Position:Livelihood Officer
Project title:Protection of Vulnerable Children Victims of the Worst Forms of Child Labour in the Gaza Strip, oPt
Location:Gaza Strip – Gaza North Governorate
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-To establish tools and assess the economic status and vulnerability level of families of children victims of the worst forms of child labor.
-To be responsible for the participatory identification and development of micro-project for families of children victims of the worst forms of child labor.
-To liaise with actors implementing livelihoods related interventions, particularly with those offering similar and complementary services to children in Gaza North Governorate, and to establish an effective referral system.
-To contribute to the identification of families with children who are victims of the worst forms of child labor in the target area and in the protection center in close collaboration with BLDA staff.
-To contribute to organizing and performing sensitization, awareness rising and participatory discussions on how to protect children from the worst forms of child labor at community level, in collaboration with BLDA staff.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCES
-At least 5 years of experience in livelihood projects, preferably agriculture and livestock, possibly within child protection agencies.
-Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet).
-Good English writing and reporting skills.
-Arabic native speaker, fluent in English.
-Previous academic and/or working experience on child labor is considered an asset.
PERSONAL QUALITIES REQUIRED
-Ability to be flexible, cooperative and to work autonomously.
-Strong analytical, leadership and organizational skills.
-Good communication and training skills.
-Understanding, interest and commitment to humanitarian activities.
