About Us: COSPE is an organization operating in the OPT since 1995 dedicated to promoting social initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable development and community empowerment, namely with women and youth, in cooperation with local civil society and public organizations. Contract duration: 12 months with possibility of renewal
Project Description: The project will be implemented in Lebanon, the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, until 31st May 2027.
The Project main objectives are:
- Women in Southern Neighborhood space strengthen their empowerment and their role as social and economic actors
- Women living in rural and marginalized areas in the Southern Neighborhood countries use gender-sensitive financial and non-financial tools to boost their economic activities.
The project focuses on 3 axes of work and outputs:
- Financial Institutions in the target countries offer appropriate gender-sensitive tools and services for women in marginalized areas
- Women entrepreneurs living in rural and marginalized areas of the targeted countries increase their capacities to use financial and non-financial tools to develop their economic activities
- Local, national and regional stakeholders promote an enabling environment for women socio-economic empowerment and inclusion.
Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Local Project Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in women’s economic empowerment and women’s financial and social inclusion, along with proven project management skills. The Local Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various initiatives aimed at promoting economic empowerment, social and financial inclusion for women, as well as sustainable development within the local community.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project plans in collaboration with partners and stakeholders, to achieve the project objectives.
- Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day activities of the Project in close coordination with the Project Manager.
- Conduct regular field visits in all West Bank Governorates; creating a calendar of visits to be agreed with the COSPE project manager.
- Identify and engage with the local partner and stakeholders, including community organizations, government agencies, and businesses oriented organizations, to support the Project initiatives.
- Monitor the Project progress, track key performance indicators, and produce regular reports.
- Organize and facilitate workshops, training sessions and community events to train, build capacities, raise awareness and advocate for women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment.
- Ensure compliance with the Project budget, timelines and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., economics, sociology, sustainable development, women’s rights, gender equality) required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management, community development, or related fields, with a focus on women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment .
- Strong understanding of economy and finance principles, including cooperative and enterprise models, financial tools, social and solidarity economy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders with international partners.
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English required; French language skills preferred.
- Working experience in women’s rights, gender equality, community mobilization.
- Working experience in MENA Region or similar contexts preferred.
