This position is an assignment to support the project “Promoting the Bedouin Center “Children’s Land” as a participatory lab for community development in Gaza Strip DCI-NSAPVD/2013/333-872 that has been approved and funded by the European Union representative office for West Bank, Gaza strip and UNRWA.
The duties associated with this position will be carried out within a framework of strong commitment and engagement.
Duties & Responsibilities (Job Description)
Working closely with all the actors involved in the project, the Logistic/Driver will use a rented car provided by VdT and he/she will have the following key duties and responsibilities:
- Support logistically the Project Manager and all Vdt Staff and Local staff in the implementation of the activities foreseen in the action;
- Transport goods, staff and materials when needed and in accordance with Project Manager indications;

- Ensure that the Rental Company will provide proper maintenance of the vehicle assigned (timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, etc..) and check the validity of all the documentation related to the car (insurance, car license, etc...) in accordance with local rules and procedures;
- Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports;
- Ensure the daily cleaning of the car;
- Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance,
vehicle logs, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts
- Drive the team according to the movement planning;
- Being responsible of the organization of the guest house/office of VdT and daily needs
(checking the functioning of all the devices, being in touch with the owner of the building
for repairs, etc);
- Apply VDT security guidelines and specific instructions related to each movement;
- Maintain an high level of collaboration and coordination with all VdT’ staff and local staff;
- Be responsible of all the visibility material in use on the project car.


Requirements

- High School degree
- Fluent both in English and Arabic, spoken and written
- Experience with International NGO
- Experience in logistic
- A valid driving license
- Able to use Office package
- Ability to work in a team, and under pressure
- Knowledge on Bedouin usage and custom

Personal Skills
- Negotiation, and communication skills combined with high degree of patience and cultural sensitivity
- Highly organized and able to work respecting deadlines
- Strong sense of responsibility

Asset
- Bachelor superior degree
- Knowledge of the Italian language
- Experience in project funded by European Union and Italian Cooperation
