POSITION: Logistics and administrative assistant (national)
DESTINATION: Oxfam Italia main office in Jerusalem with frequent travels in Occupied Palestinian
Territories (OPT)
STARTING DATE: from 1st July until 31st March 2012
DURATION: 9 months
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: 12th June 2011

Oxfam Italia is International NGO dedicated to work with others to overcome poverty and suffering.
Oxfam Italia works in the OPT since the years 1994-1996 with interventions mainly in the social and
agricultural sectors. Starting from 2001 Oxfam Italia focus its actions on the implementation of
emergency operations in support of the people affected by the construction of the Israeli separation
wall, by Israeli occupation and by the conflict in general, both in urban and rural areas.
This decade of experience, together with that gained in the field of food security in particular with
sheep and goats herders, were the basis for designing the project entitled “Emergency support to the herders and Bedouin communities” funded by DG ECHO.
In the framework of the above mentioned project Oxfam Italia is looking for a logistics and
administrative assistant (national)

PERIOD
The contract will start on the 1st July 2011 for 9 months

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
Under the supervision of the Country Administrator, the administrative assistant supports Oxfam Italia staff in secretary, logistics, accountability activities.
Secretary and Logistics activities:
-To support the administrator in the relations with the main suppliers
-To support the administrator in the maintenance of the office
-To support Oxfam Italia staff in the translation of the documents from and to Arabic

Accountability area:
-To support Oxfam Italia administrator in the management of the payments and the preparation of the supporting documents
-To support the administrator in the preparation of the financial report

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE
-Computer skills: good use of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel and the ability to learn new software.
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Attention to detail and initiative to achieve results
-Fluency in Arabic and English,
-Ability to travel to Jerusalem and throughout the West Bank
-Ability to be discreet and to maintain confidentiality
-Ability to work under minimal supervision, and as part of a team
-Ability to multi task, priorities and to work under pressure
-Ability to produce outcomes and excellent time management skills
-Drive license
-Work by and adhere to OXFAM values
-Previous work experience with NGOs in similar position will be positively evaluated
-Degree in Economics will be positively evaluated
-Knowledge of Hebrew will be positively evaluated
