Position: Logistics and security officer     Reporting to: Head of Mission
Location: Jerusalem                                      Deadline for application: 30th of June 2009
Salary range: 4926-5544 NIS ac. to exp.
THE ORGANIZATION

Handicap International is an international NGO specialising in the field of disability and postemergency intervention. HI has been present in the Palestinian Territories since 1996. The association has implemented several projects, including providing technical support to referral centres for people with disabilities. The association is present in the Gaza Strip and supports activities to meet the needs of PWDs & improve their daily life (rehabilitation services, adaptation works on certain buildings..). These actions are performed in partnership with Palestinian associations
THE JOB

Under the supervision of the Head of Mission, the logistics and security officer is responsible for the logistic running of Jerusalem office, and the security management of assets and employees for Handicap International mission.
Supply chain management
- To manage the procurements, according to HI procedures
- To follow-up the stock management
- To monitor the deliveries to the departments/bases/programs
Equipment and fleet management
• To supervise the use (installation, maintenance, repairs) of the equipments and vehicles
• To update the equipment list
• To organize the fleet (planning, maintenance, costs follow-up…)
• To supervise the driver
Rehabilitation and maintenance
To monitor the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of all the structures (office, guest-house, warehouse…)
Security management
• To collect information and context analysis
• To follow-up the implementation of the security rules
• In charge of the security of the expatriates and national staff
• Coordinate with national staff, NGO’s, authorities to ensure accurate information at all levels.
Reporting
• To produce the monthly logistic report
• To produce specific reports when needed
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

• You will have a scholar background and a prior professional experience in logistics, procurement and security.
• You have a strong practical knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
• You will have strong organisational skills. You will be diplomatic and possess strong communication and
interpersonal skills.
• You will be sensitive to the needs of vulnerable groups.
• You will be fluent in English (written and spoken), Arabic and Hebrew.
• A PLUS: previous experience with an international NGOs.
