Background:
The primary purpose of the Logistics Assistant position is to provide assistance to the office by performing logistics, limited procurement and other responsibilities in a timely manner.  The incumbent will be responsible for all the clerical work of that is related to his/her assignment listed in the functions/key results below.  The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Deputy Special Representative (O). The assistance of the incumbent will keep the Operations Section in track of providing the best services to the UNDP/PAPP clients on a timely manner and release the pressure from the work load.
Description of Responsibilities:
Summary of key functions:
-To undertake logistics related assignment.
-To undertake Procurement related tasks as assigned in the TOR
-To undertake other duties as required.
1-Handling procurement request, contact suppliers and get price quotations, specifications and evaluate the good or services upon request, issue Purchase orders, follow up with supplier and make sure third party receive the goods and sign the Receiving inspection report, to issue a payment then.
2-Follow up and work within the procurement team,  issue Purchase orders, payments and fill vendor forms on Atlas
3-Deliver disposed inventory to assigned destinations
4-Distributing checks and payments for vendors and suppliers
5-Follow up with governmental offices and to undertake Clearances of goods and shipments from ports and air-ports.
6-Replacing any position when needed (Reception, Transportation, Security guards, Stationery and Logistical works).
7-Local shopping for urgent and special items. Following up with printing presses (Business cards, printing reports, folder… etc).
8-Follow up on issues related to UNDP/PAPP building premises and offices, security and safety measures, achieving and warehouses.
9-Perform tasks related to UNDP’s Banks, MoFA, Telephone Company, Water Company and Electricity Company . . . etc.
10.-Securing Photocopier and Fax machine ink supplies.
11-Getting mail from post offices and pouches from UNTSO and other organizations
12-Supervising the set up of new offices, in terms of equipment, contracts, telephone lines, construction, etc.
13-To perform any other duties as requested by the Direct Supervisor.

Impact of Results
By undertaking the above mentioned tasks, the Logistics Assistant will benefit the office as he/she will release the overload and pressure build up in the Operations Section.

Qualifications :

Education: High School Diploma
Experience:
-Minimum of 3 years of work experience in an International Organization (UN Organizations is preferable)
-Computer skills specially office and widows
-Knowledge of the UN Rules and regulations would be an asset.
-Knowledge of Atlas would be an asset.
-Holds of a valid Driving License
Language Requirements:
Fluency in both of the English and Arabic languages.  Hebrew language is an asset.
