Work context
CESVI has been working in Palestine since 1994, and it has developed over the years an expertise in the area of water, sanitation and environment through the implementation of projects in the field, establishing partnerships with relevant actors in the sector and thanks to active participation in the WASH cluster.
CESVI is currently implementing projects in the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip.
In response to the situation in the Gaza Strip, CESVI is planning to expand its presence in the strip, through implementation of emergency and humanitarian relief response interventions. This includes but not limited to food security and basic needs assistance, and improving access to water and shelter.
Job Purpose: To provide support to the field teams in the areas of logistics, procurement, fleet management, and premises management.
In particular, with the support of other team members, the incumbent is expected to:
Logistics
- Manage all logistics processes in accordance with CESVI’s policies and procedures, in a transparent, accountable, efficient and cost-effective manner;
- Work closely with the program teams, partners, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and how to best support for achieving quality programming
- Maintain accurate filing systems, with documented and supported records of action for audit purposes, and submit monthly logistics reports to the management team.
- Maintain an updated list of suppliers and market analysis.
Fleet management
- Identify solutions and suppliers to support movement of staff and commodities within the Gaza strip, including cars, trucks, and any other means necessary.
- Ensure safe and coordinated movements in accordance to activity plans and priorities.
- Inspect and ensure safety of vehicles including daily checks and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain documentation, visibility and coordination with relevant stakeholders to ensure safety and safe guarding of staff and vehicles.
Safety and security
- Support on in securing needed permits and other movement requirements for CESVI staff and partners.
- Ensure implementation of movement safety approval and tracking system.
- Regular check for all safety tools and equipment’s (First Aid)
- Hiring and supervision of guards and other safety personnel within the Gaza strip.
- Communicate and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to provide safety and first aid training for CESVI staff and partners.
Office administration
- Lead in overall CESVI premises administration aspects (guesthouse, office, distribution points…) including identification, maintenance, stocked supplies, cleanliness, safety and functionality of the office.

Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, international development, or other similar sectors.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the humanitarian and development sector.
- Strong writing and communication skills in Arabic and English.
- Strong data analysis and survey development skills.
- Strong data collection skills, including using of Kobo and similar platforms.
- Strong interpersonal skills, specifically negotiation and diplomacy skills
- High flexibility and ability to lead and work autonomously.
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), knowledge of and experience on the use of Kobo toolbox for data collection
The assignment is a full-time post expected to start immediately. Subject to satisfactory performance, the period of employment may be extended.
