Logistics Officer – Gaza 07-2024

Location: North Gaza

Job Overview:

The Logistics Officer will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing logistics operations for CESVI/Juzoor’s programs in North Gaza. This includes ensuring efficient and effective procurement, transportation, and distribution of goods and services. The successful candidate will work closely with program staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of logistics activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement and Supply Chain Management:
• Manage the procurement process for goods and services, including preparation of purchase orders and contracts.
• Coordinate with Log Departments, vendors and suppliers in Egypt and Jordan for a smooth goods reception in Gaza
• Maintain an accurate inventory of supplies and manage stock levels.
• Transportation and Distribution:
•  Oversee the transportation and distribution including last miles delivery of goods to project sites, ensuring compliance with logistical and safety standards.
• Arrange and monitor the delivery of materials, equipment, and supplies to various locations.
• Logistics Planning and Coordination:
• Coordinate with program teams and other relevant departments teams to understand their logistics needs and provide timely solutions.
• Monitor and report on logistics performance and challenges.

• Documentation and Compliance:
• Maintain detailed records of all logistics activities, including procurement documents, delivery receipts, and inventory reports.
• Ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures as well as donor requirements.
• Team Management:
• Supervise and support logistics staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment within the logistics team.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably with an NGO or international organization.
• Skills:
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and logistics management software.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of local logistics and procurement regulations is an advantage.
• Languages: Arabic and working knowledge of written and spoken English
