AMIDEAST, an international non-profit organization in the West Bank and Gaza, is seeking full-time qualified candidates for its USAID funded education program-Model Schools Network (MSN) Program. AMIDEAST is recruiting for the following two position:
Logistics SpecialistThe logistics specialist will be responsible for the planning, receiving and distribution of commodities, services and supplies procured by the Model Schools Network Program for the benefit of different schools in West Bank and Gaza Strip. The logistics specialist will be responsible for the commodities once ordered from local and overseas markets from the time the orders placed with the vendor until delivered to the schools. S/he must work closely with procurement specialist, AMIDEAST administration, vendors, clearing agents and the beneficiary schools. S/he must have experience and good command in logistic management cycle including the receive, storage and delivery of commodities. Other duties include:
• Develop, manage and maintain tracking system for the deliveries’ schedule of the procured commodities.
• Set up delivery plans and coordinate with the local and overseas vendors the delivery of all of the procured commodities to AMIDEAST warehouses and to the beneficiary schools.
• Assure proper shipping, handling and receive of all of the procured commodities.
• Assure proper storage of the procured commodities in accordance to the international standards.
• Develop and manage of comprehensive inventory system to track the commodities movement.
• Manage the distribution system and coordinator with all the schools the delivery of the procured commodities.
• Liaise and coordinate with the shipping agencies, clearing agents and transportation companies.
• Work with all of the relevant departments and local authorities to handle the clearance of the commodities in accordance to the local laws.
• Assure the safety and security of the warehouses and commodities and staff delivering commodities to the schools.
Minimum Qualifications and Required Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience in logistics management.
• Strong command in logistics chain management.
• Knowledge of USAID policies, rules, and regulations.
• Experience in shipping and clearance.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
• Excellent knowledge of software applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and e-mail.
