Logistics Team Leader - Ramallah or Jerusalem

The Logistics Team Leader in NRC will lead a designated logistics area, ensuring the effective execution of procurement, fleet management, distribution, and asset-related activities. Additionally, the Logistics Team Leader will play a key role in coordinating and implementing logistics strategies that align with and support NRC’s overall mission and operations. Generic Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, SOP’s and donor requirements 
  • Ensure that local SOP’s regulate procedures at field office level, and perform periodic checks 
  • Coordinate market assessment within the scope and request of programme teams 
  • Support line managers in procedures and require support team trainings related to logistic 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the delivery of all logistics services, ensuring they meet project needs in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. 
  • Encourage a high-performing team environment through training, capacity building, and performance management. 
  • Overall responsibility for drivers planning, working together with the Logistics Officer to explore and implement ways to better plan, schedule and monitor transport of staff and material.
  • Ensuring that drivers carry out weekly vehicle checks and share the necessary information with the Logistics Coordinator/Office.
  • Work closely with program teams, other departments, and external partners to ensure smooth coordination and alignment of logistics services with overall project goals. 
  • Take full responsibility for the management of NRC PS assets and fleet in NRC offices in West Bank and Jerusalem, ensuring proper documentation, tracking, and maintenance in compliance with policies. 
  • Ensure compliance with formalized logistics policies and procedures, maintaining documentation aligned with both NRC Global guidelines and donor requirements.

Job Requirements

Generic Professional Competencies: 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics or procurement management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, ideally in humanitarian or development settings. 
  • Strong knowledge of logistics operations, procurement processes, asset management, and fleet management. 
  • Managing resources to optimize results.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic. 

Context/Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • University degree in Supply Chain or a relevant subject. 
  • Knowledge and experience of main donors’ logistics policies. 
  • Knowledge of Logistics Management in the Middle East, particularly Palestine and Israel. 
  • Proven leadership abilities with a focus on team development, motivation, and performance. 
  • Strong understanding of INGO policies, donor regulations, and compliance requirements. 
  • Knowledge of Hebrew is an advantage.
