Programme Description

The Palestinian Market Development Programme (PMDP), is funded by UK Department for International Development (DFID) and European Union (EU) in-cooperation with the Ministry of National Economy and implemented by DAI Europe over a period of five years in the oPt, with offices in Ramallah and Gaza.

PMDP aims to improve private sector competitiveness through technical assistance and matching grants. Additionally, PMDP works on strengthening trade and investment linkages as well as linkages with the Palestinian Diaspora to play an active role in economic development in the oPts.
To support the Palestinian Investment Promotion Agency (PIPA), PMDP will beusing the services of two local advisorsto be hosted for a period of one year at PIPA, to support PIPA’s new organizational structure.
    
We are currently Recruiting for the following position:
    

Marketing Advisor  – PIPA Marketing Directorate


The marketing advisor is to provide PIPA’s Marketing and Information Directorate with the oversight, guidance, coaching needed to support PIPA’s dynamic and proactive sales and marketing approach.
Core services will be delivered principally in territory (Ramallah) but can include outreach and pragmatic training in target countries.
Ideally, the candidate will have demonstrable proven track record in marketing, sales  and public relations techniques and methodologies, ideally with international client exposure, combined with a clear understanding of foreign direct investment motivational factors impacting on the investment decision along with knowledge and experience in the areas of branding and new business generation.

Below are the key areas where the Marketing Advisor will be engaged:

-Assist PIPA CEO in building the capacity of the newly structured Marketing and Information Directorate, including setting up systems and procedures.
-Assist marketing team refine and implement 2016/2017 operating plan;
-Help develop a public relations communication strategy / action plan focused on image building (Palestine and PIPA) and drawing investment opportunities to Diaspora member attention;
-Coach staff on how to improve and validate the value proposition and marketing message for the sectors defined within PIPA’s strategy;
-Develop sector specific outreach investment generation activities including the initial approach; follow-up – and possibly participation in outreach in target markets;
-Help forge partnerships with other constituents with a role to play in investment attraction – and branding of Palestine.

Key Skills & Qualification

-Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Relations, or any other related field, Master’s degree is preferable.
-A minimum of 10 years of professional related work experience.
-Demonstrate experience in working on sales, marketing and public relations techniques and methodologies
-Strong knowledge of the Palestinian economy, previous experience in Institutional development work and a track record of trade and investment linkages development.
-Strong research and analytical skills with  ability to give advice to complex business propositions
-A team player with leadership qualities with capacity to assemble and develop work teams
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Fluency in Arabic and English (both written and oral)
