Reports to: MEAL Officer, Admin Support Manager

Position Purpose:

The MEAL Assistant will assist the MEAL Officer in managing all monitoring and evaluation activities for the various ongoing projects across all program areas of the organization. This role involves implementing systems that promote evidence-based decision-making and ensure standardized M&E practices. The MEAL Assistant will execute M&E tasks and activities in accordance with the organization’s manual and under the direction of the MEAL Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Monitoring:
  • Contribute to data collection efforts for project activities using established tools and methods.
  • Support accurate and timely data entry into monitoring databases.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting monitoring reports that accurately reflect collected data and observations.
  • Assist in field monitoring visits to ensure compliance with project standards and gather qualitative feedback from project beneficiaries.

 

  1. Evaluation:
  • Support the MEAL Officer in the design and implementation of project evaluations.
  • Contribute to data analysis and the preparation of evaluation reports, highlighting important trends and findings.
  • Support the MEAL Officer in ensuring evaluations are conducted ethically and objectively.
  1. Accountability and Learning:
  • Support the maintenance of a beneficiary feedback mechanism to ensure that all concerns and suggestions are appropriately captured and addressed.
  • Assist in documenting and disseminating lessons learned and best practices from project implementation to enhance future projects.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development studies, or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of work experience in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of principles, tools and practices of monitoring and evaluation programs.
  • Previous field experience in assessments, data gathering, interviews, information triangulation/verification, and report writing.
  • Some experience in data analysis (qualitative and quantitative) and reporting skills.
  • Good at using Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • The ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
  • Willingness to travel within operational areas of the West Bank.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Strong data analysis and survey development skills
  • Having good computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Good coordination skills with staff from different departments and good multi-tasking skills
  • Capable in planning and problem solving
  • Willingness to improve skills and knowledge
